August 2004 Newsletter
NEWS Bulletin for 2004-2005:
Dear Lions:
It's hard to believe, but summer is already two-thirds over. With August approaching , it's time to get another year of Lionism underway. I am sincerely looking forward with everyone and having another successful year for the Arcola Lions.
To kick-off the 2004-2005 year, the annual family picnic will be held at the Old City Park on August 24, 2004 at 6:00 PM. With a little luck we will have excellent weather for this event. As always Larry Shafer and his crew will be cooking pork chops for this event. Please bring a covered dish and eating utensils. Also, please remember to bring the family. Please come and enjoy the family, friendship, and games. This is always a fun event.
The Candy Day Jamboree will be held on August 4, 2004 at the United Methodist Church in Villa Grove. The meeting will be immediately following. Anyone interested in attending please let me know by Friday, July 30th.
As mentioned earlier, I am really looking forward to this year. If anyone has any questions or suggestions to make the Club even better, please let me know.

Dear Lions, now a word from your secretary,
You will notice that on the billing statement for the 3rd quarter of 2004 that there has been an increase to the International, State, and District dues. The International dues have taken the increase. The adjustments have been made to this billing. Please find enclosed a listing for the Committees for 2004-2005 and the listing of officers.
